Algorithms, Social Media and Society

Hi everyone, I am Jennifer. 

I would like to introduce you one issue that is not being mentioned enough even though it is really important. My goal from this blog is to show you how media works. The topic I would like to talk about is called Algorithms in Social Media and Society.

We are the ones that give the informations to the world via Instagram. Facebook or other platforms such as Google or Twitter. Our media learns new thing from us, the things that we like and search on them. Social media algorithms record more than you think. Such as screen-time, our clicks, what do we look at, most used categories on our phone. For example Instagram, it records the time how long do we look at some specific picture or it keeps a record of who do we follow, who we liked a picture, etc.
